Tim Haslam: What was the deciding factor in coming to the University of Utah?
Quinault Mackey: I loved the coaching staff and the athletic facilities at Utah the most. I am very honored and excited to be playing under Coach Holman and his staff at Utah. I think it is very cool to see the growth of lacrosse as it moves to more Universities West of the Mississippi River.
TH: What are you looking forward to the most during your collegiate career?
QM: I am looking forward to the challenge of competing at a Division I level. As a kid, it is what you always dream of doing and attending the University of Utah allows me to fulfill that dream.
TH: Have you ever been to Utah? If so, what were your first impressions?
QM: Attending the prospect day in September was the first time that I have ever been to Utah. I loved the area and the Rocky Mountains are a great backdrop for a University.
TH: What other schools were you looking at?
QM: I was looking at Brown, Towson, and Tufts
TH: What other sports do you play?
QM: I am on my high school’s golf team and I play a little soccer as well.
TH: What are your hobbies outside of lacrosse?
QM: I love hiking. Seattle has a ton of really unique hikes that I go on with friends all the time. I enjoy music as well.
